Cancers of the mouth and throat are relatively rare. Including cancers of the lip, tongue, mouth and throat, there are about 6,200 people diagnosed in the UK each year. Overall, about 2 out of every 100 cancers diagnosed (2%) are mouth or oropharynx cancers.
